The HRI T-Series ROVs
Designed as a tools platform for deep water subsea work, the T-series ROVs offer range, depth and powerful lifting capabilities in a high stability form factor.
The first model in the T-series, the T-6500 shares the long range capabilities of the other HRI ROVs but is optimized in design for work that is more directly below the launch point. Designed for pendulum stability, the system is capable of exerting substantial torque, and is capable of lifting objects of 100kg. Like with the U-series vehicles, the T-6500 is outfitted with strong manipulators to perform tasks and to deploy tools and instrumentation.
The market applications for the T-6500 include:
- Inspection, maintenance and repair – the vehicle can be launched from a ship, shore, or an ocean platform to perform a range of visual inspection and maintenance tasks, including cleaning, valve testing, and corrosion testing. Markets for such tasks include oil & gas (rig inspection and maintenance), alternative offshore energy (wind and tidal plants), telecommunications cable pickup (if the break location is within a tighter radius).
- Sampling – the vehicle can be used to collect samples in a 2-5 km radius from its area of deployment. Markets for this include mining, bio-prospecting, and general scientific research.
- Payload deployment – the vehicle can be used to deploy instruments and other payloads within a 2-5km radius. Markets for this work include military applications and scientific research.
- Observation – the vehicle is ideal for oversight of other process machinery, including heavy work ROVs, mining systems, and trenchers, which operate over smaller areas. The markets for this work including oil & gas and mining
