About HRI

Hawkes Remotes Inc. (HRI) is a spinoff from leading ocean engineering firm Hawkes Ocean Technologies, which has for the last fifteen years been a leading innovator in the field of manned and unmanned submersibles and core submersible technologies. Co-Founder Graham Hawkes has designed and developed more than sixty submersibles, as well as diving suits, ROVs, manipulators and other tools for ocean access and work. More than 500 systems designed by Hawkes are in the water today.

In 2011, the assets of Hawkes Remotes were acquired by Bluefin Robotics, a leading developer and manufacturer of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs).

The HRI Vision

By making ocean access easier, more affordable and more scalable, we will become a world leader in unmanned underwater vehicles within five years.

The HRI Mission

To build the most cost-effective, reliable, and durable robotic systems to project human capabilities into the oceans, at any depth, for the benefit of industrial, government, and scientific customers, by combining new and existing technologies to rethink the core designs of unmanned underwater vehicles.
